Journal quilts

The Contemporary Quilt group of the Quilters' Guild of the British Isles invites its members to take part in a Journal Quilt project every year. The commitment is to produce one small quilt per month for the whole year. The size and orientation varies each year, and sometimes there are additional 'rules' that must be followed. This is a great opportunity to try out new ideas, materials or techniques.

2013

This year we had to specify a theme. Mine was By the Sea, but I only managed to complete the first four quilts. They are inspired by sketchbook pages done whilst I was working on the tin mine series. They fit into the theme as all are to be found near or on the coast. Size was 8" x 12".

2012

My first year of participation was 2012, where the rules stipulated that the quilts would be in A4 portrait format, the first 4 being 75% red, the next four 75% yellow and the final four 75% blue.
