Narrative series

2016 - 2017

These small canvases and framed works continue the exploration of the random items I collect on my walks on the beaches of the south coast. Here the focus is on single items or small groups - shells with holes, stripy pebbles, scruffy feathers battered by the sea and the wind, dried-out mermaids purses - combined with textural stitch.

Porthmeor series

2012

These three canvases are inspired by Porthmeor Beach in St Ives, Cornwall. There is a row of artists' studios and cottages which seem to be built directly on the beach. Hand-dyed and printed cotton, machine quilted and hand stitched onto deep box canvases then painted. ​​

Legacy series

2012

Made for the Stitch Witches Alton 2012 exhibition, these three small hangings are inspired by the ruins of Cornish tin mines. Hand-dyed and printed cotton, machine quilted. All 75x15cm.
