Sheffield Park - Autumn

2006

Inspired by an autumn walk in Sheffield Park Garden, East Sussex and a piece of Leslie Morgan's stunning, hand-dyed fabric.
The garden has several rectangular man-made lakes and in autumn the leaves of the Acers are reflected in them, together with a greenish-blue hydrangea.

Materials: Commercial cotton batik, hand dyed cotton and purchased hand dyed cotton; various threads and beads.

Method: basic piecing, bonded applique, free machine quilting, hand quilting and couching.
