Unseen forces: Chesil
Inspired by the South West Coast Path and the sea, this work explores the unseen forces which shape our fragile coastline. Shifting and changing constantly with the tides, after a storm everything is different, unrecognisable. A whole beach can be built and destroyed in a season. My process reflects this: the slow rhythmic hand stitching is meditative and echoes the ceaseless ebb and flow of the waves, whilst the subsequent unpredictability of painting and dyeing totally transforms the work.
